Legislation states that landlords or rental providers have certain responsibilities for gas, electricity and smoke alarm safety.

If a gas, electrical and smoke alarm safety check has not been conducted within the last 2 years at the time the renter occupies the premises, the rental provider must arrange this safety check as soon as possible.

These services are mandatory and must be adhered to for the protection and health and safety of all tenants living in the home.

How it works

  1. Managing agents or the landlord can book a safety check with us.
  2. We contact the tenant to ensure they will be home at the time of the site visit.
  3. We send an SMS reminder the day before the visit.
  4. Audit reporting, photos and certificates are kept in our job management system and emailed to the managing agent or to the landlord directly.

*When we are on site, slight adjustments can be made (at the discretion of the technician) at no extra charge. However, if further time and/ or materials are required to ensure the gas or electrical systems are compliant, extra charges may apply. This can include things like; a new smoke alarm or requiring a new gas valve or safety switch. These would be repaired on-site with competitive rates to assure all compliance requirements are met. If major works are needed, Service Today will provide a competitive quote and report back to the landlord or rental agent.
