Known among locals as “the Forest”, this district of Northern Sydney houses the suburbs at the most western point of the Northern Beaches. These include Forestville, Frenchs Forest, Belrose, Davidson, Killarney Heights, Terrey Hills and Duffys Forest, in which almost 30,000 people reside. The Forest District is situated in and around the vast bushland of the Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park and the Garigal National Park. The area’s public transport is mainly served by Forest Coachlines, connecting people from the Forest District to suburbs in the North Shore, Northern Beaches and into Sydney’s Central Business District. There are many sporting associations that cover gridiron, rugby league, rugby union, Australian rules football, netball and soccer.
