The Lower North Shore is the area that is located immediately north of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, bordered by the Lane Cove River to the west, Sydney Harbour to the south and Middle Harbour to the east. Suburbs included in this district are Mosman, Cremorne, Neutral Bay, Milsons Point, Lane Cove, Gladesville, Hunters Hill and Waverton. The area is known for its arts and crafts scene, as well as its street festivals. The Willoughby Spring Festival is held in September each year for one month and features over 40 events including live music, entertainment, exhibitions and cultural celebrations. The annual Willoughby StreetFair takes over the Chatswood CBD with market stalls, performers, dancers and musicians. Lane Cove also celebrates Tartan Day; Northern Sydney’s Aboriginal history is honoured at the Guringgai Festival; and there are annual art prizes to be won.
