The Upper North Shore region of Sydney usually refers to suburbs located to the north-west of the Sydney’s Central Business District, to the west of the Kur-ing-gai Chase National Park and those that back onto the northern section of the Lane Cove National Park. Suburbs include Lindfield, Wahroonga, Killara, Beecroft, Turramurra, Hornsby, Gordon, Pymble, Roseville and Pennant Hills. Another predominantly affluent area, the district is home to pristine leafy streets, large parcels of land, top quality schools, and English country-home-like houses. It’s easily accessible by public transport, and is a popular area for bushwalking, abseiling and bouldering activities. The district is also home to a fantastic range of animal and plant life, including long-nose bandicoots, stone geckos, forest bats, the Sydney Green Wattle and Old Man Banksia.
